Signatures, and why they perplex me today,Let's start with three big points.
1. My name is Katherine. When I finish a traditional piece, I sign with my full name. This is because I assume the people seeing the traditional will know who I am already.
2. I had an account on gaiaonline.com. Like my username here on deviantart, it was Daggersnatch. So, when I started sending my art over the internet, I used my username to sign art instead of my name...because we've all heard those terrible stories about creepy people that can track you down.
3. Due to certain circumstances that I still disagree with, the account 'Daggersnatch' was locked. So I had to create a new account with a new username. So now it is Melancholy Euphoria. Now when I send my art over the internet, it is signed either 'Mel' or 'Melancholy'.
So I had to think about what to sign my artwork with when I finished a piece today. I haven't signed my art with 'Daggersnatch' in a long time, I'm a little too creeped out by the news to sign my actual name, and 'Melancholy' is different from my username here.
Bleh. So I'm going with Melancholy for now. I guess I'll just go through all the art one day and put a general mark/ sign so that they all look nice and pretty and happy, but that's not right now.
